Rangers due to complete Jefte transfer before February 1 deadline passes

Rangers are due to complete the signing of Brazilian left-back Jefte before the February 1 deadline, according to Rangers Review

The Fluminense defender is currently on loan at Cypriot club APOEL,

but he is expected to join Rangers following a deal between the Light Blues and the Brazilian side.

A contract to shorten the loan has been pending APOEL’s approval,

but the player is still expected to sign at Ibrox before the deadline of 11 p.m. on Thursday night.

“Brazilian left back” Jefte is also set to sign with the Rangers before the window closes tomorrow night,

” they wrote.
Rangers have been looking for a left-back throughout the transfer window,

but they have yet to close a deal.

Even this deal has been tough, with conditions agreed upon a long time ago,

but the green light has never officially arrived, despite the fact that there is only one day remaining.

However, with this report indicating that a transaction will still be completed on time,

Philippe Clement is likely to finally have his man in a problem position, thereby strengthening the squad.

Jefte is an attacking full-back who will give width, combination play,

and an attacking mindset, and with Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz’s futures uncertain, his opportunity to play regularly may come sooner than expected.

But if not, he is still young enough to be a future star rather than an instant one,

and Rangers will have secured a top young talent to come through the Ibrox doors,

giving the manager a chance to succeed where others have failed.

“You can see the appeal, so it stands to reason,” he told Ibrox News.

“We know that American investors and consortiums have targeted football,

and we see potential in the Rangers.

The Scottish league is not as large as it could be globally,

but Rangers, with the Champions League and an expanded Club World Cup,

have the ability to take their game international.
