Oscar Cortes nears Rangers loan transfer as Lens winger arrives in Glasgow for Medical
The Colombian, 20, is set to be paraded as a Gers player over the next 24 hours
Oscar Cortes is set to be introduced as a Rangers player after landing in Glasgow earlier today.
The Lens attacker will be Philippe Clement’s third signing of the January window,
following Wolves loan striker Fabio Silva and £4.5 million FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mohamed Diomande at Ibrox.
Cortes, 20, was identified by Gers to strengthen the club’s offensive options,
as Danilo, Kemar Roofe, and Abdallah Sima are all now out.
The Colombian has only made four appearances from the bench for Lens this season,
and Rangers will have the option to buy him in the summer.
Cortes was allowed to abandon international duty over the weekend in order to sort out his future,
and the highly rated kid will now be paraded within the next 24 hours.
The Light Blues are also hoping to sign Brazilian left-back Jefte before the deadline tomorrow,
despite the fact that the 20-year-old has gone missing and has not been seen by loan club APOEL in FIVE days.
The kid is presently on loan at the Cypriot club from Fluminense and is thought to have accepted personal terms to move to Glasgow.
However, a spokeswoman for APOEL stated earlier this week
that the team has not seen or heard from the player and has no contract with his parent club or Rangers.
The Light Blues have been hunting for a left-back this transfer window and want to complete a move for Brazilian Jefte before the deadline.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan at APOEL from Fluminense,
but an agreement in principle is in place to bring him to Ibrox permanently.
Philippe Clement is also close to signing Colombian winger Oscar Cortes on loan from Lens,
and he arrived in Glasgow today to finalise the deal.
