Lino Sousa, an Arsenal left-back, was reportedly wanted by Rangers, but it appears that he will sign with Aston Villa instead.

The young player, who was born in Portugal, is expected to move permanently to Villa Park and will presumably have a check-up

today. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Rangers, Galatasaray, and Juventus were among the clubs that expressed interest in

the 19-year-old in the past.

When Sousa was eight years old, his family relocated to England from Portugal. He later enrolled in West Brom’s academy before

turning seventeen and joining Arsenal. He has never played for the Gunners first team despite making an impression in the youth

teams, but he has been capped for the England under-19 squad.

This transfer window, the Light Blues have been searching for a left-back, and they are hoping to sign Brazilian Jefte before the

deadline. The 20-year-old is currently on loan at APOEL from Fluminense, but there is a tentative agreement in place for him to move

permanently to Ibrox.

Oscar Cortes, a Colombian winger, has arrived in Glasgow to finalize his loan move from Lens, and Philippe Clement is almost certain

to sign him.
