There’s been talk…’ – Ferguson promotes Rangers bid to sign Kilmarnock ace before deadline

Rangers might be better served moving for Kilmarnock star Daniel Armstrong rather than pursuing Argentine forward Luca Langoni, according to Derek Ferguson.

Rangers have made an approach for the 21-year-old Argentina attacker,

according to Standard journalist Dom Smith (15 January). Fulham, Sevilla,

and Nice are also apparently interested.

Ferguson believes it would be smarter for Rangers to look closer to home at players who have previously demonstrated their ability to compete in the Scottish Premiership.

Ferguson told Ibrox News exclusively:

“I don’t know much about the boy or Argentinian football, but coming here,

with a different culture, it will take some time to adjust.

“There’s been chatter about other players, possibly even in our league,

who could come in and have an impact for a lot less money.

I don’t know enough about the youngster (Langoni);

sometimes there are just names thrown around; for me, it’s guys from all over the world who take time to settle in.

“Not only with teammates, but with various foods, lifestyles, and cultures.

To be honest with you, I would not pursue that road.”

Cortes “could now put pen-to-paper to become the latest arrival as Clement gears up for a shot at the Premiership title in the coming months”

after loan deals for Fabio Silva from Wolves and Mohamed Diomande from FC Nordsjaelland,

with the latter expected to be turned permanent in the summer.

Sooner or later. It appears that it is a done deal from Colombia’s perspective,

but formalities must yet be completed in Scotland.

There appears to be a very good probability that the teenager will join Clement’s team soon,

assuming no unanticipated issues arise during the final talks or medical.

Despite being the same age as Alex Lowry,

who is due to leave the club on loan again,

Cortes must be expected to contribute to the first-team this season if his projected move is initially on loan.

With Abdallah Sima out for what may be the remainder of the season,

the team’s attacking options have become limited.
