Report: Rangers target could be sold for just £2.5m, club facing financial problems

Vitesse Arnhem may be forced to sell the Rangers linked Million Manhoef this month with the Eredivisie outfit facing big ‘financial concerns’.

While the links involving one of Dutch football’s most versatile players have cooled in recent weeks,

things are heating up again ahead of Thursday’s deadline, with Vitesse’s financial woes turning the hob to six.

According to Algemeen Dagblad, Vitesse needs to raise approximately five million euros to improve their fragile situation.

And it just so happens that Manhoef may be their finest source of revenue,

since the all-action midfielder is the most marketable commodity in a side lacking in quality.

Rangers were linked at the end of 2023, according to the Scottish Sun.

The appointment of former PSV Eindhoven manager Nils Koppen as the club’s director of football has fuelled speculation that a number of Eredivisie players,

including FC Twente’s Gijs Smal and PSV’s own Fredrik Oppegard,

may transfer to Ibrox in the middle of the season.

Meanwhile, Manhoef will most likely be permitted to leave if the price is right.

Vitesse is asking for roughly £2.5 million, although they may be persuaded to accept less given their dire financial circumstances.

The Scottish Sun reports that Rangers were linked at the end of 2023.

The appointment of former PSV Eindhoven manager Nils Koppen as the club’s director of football has fueled talk that a number of Eredivisie players,

including FC Twente’s Gijs Smal and PSV’s Fredrik Oppegard, may go to Ibrox in the middle of the season.

Meanwhile, Manhoef will most likely be allowed to depart if the price is reasonable.

Vitesse is seeking for around £2.5 million,

although they may be convinced to accept less considering their precarious financial situation.

A deal to bring in the Colombian might open the way for Matondo to leave Ibrox before the January transfer window closes. According to German publication BILD,

Mainz are set to “open the door” to a loan switch,

with director of sport Christian Heidel an admirer who brought him to Schalke during his stint at the Arena AufSchalke.
