Although Owen Beck was strongly linked to a January transfer to Rangers and Celtic, he is now expected to finalize a deal with a

different Scottish team.

Prior to being called up by parent club Liverpool to provide cover for Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, who are both long-term

injured, the 21-year-old had an incredibly impressive first half of the season at Dundee.

Reports had indicated that both Old Firm

clubs would compete for his services should he become available again following his impressive performances at Dens Park.

Though he was not used as a substitute in the team’s FA Cup victory over Norwich City over the weekend, his return to Anfield

coincided with a rare appearance in the Liverpool first team. He came off the bench during the team’s 4-0 away victory at

Bournemouth, replacing Connor Bradley in the closing moments of the match.

Beck will now likely make a quick trip to the Scottish Premiership after the BBC revealed

that the Welsh under-21 international will

return to Dundee on a new loan agreement. When the defender arrived at the team’s training facility on Monday, ecstatic fans welcomed him.

According to reports, Beck was eager to finish his second tenure at Dens Park because he wanted to keep improving and thought

Dundee was the best spot to accomplish so after making a total

of 17 appearances for them during the first half of the season.

The defender hopes that a strong finish to the season north of the border will give him more opportunities in the Anfield first team.

The defender still has two and a half years left on his current contract with the Merseyside giants. If that doesn’t work out, Celtics

manager Brendan Rodgers is rumored to be considering a summer return for Beck.
