Galatasaray’s financial capacity in their pursuit of Ridvan Yilmaz has increased,

but they do not intend to raise their offer to Rangers, according to Ali Naci Küçük.

The Turkish journalist stated on Futbol Arena TV (30 January) that the Istanbul giants

are only willing to pay a loan fee of €500,000 [£426,000],

with the possibility to make the deal permanent for an additional €3 million [£2.56 million].

The Light Blues are demanding €4.5 million [£3.83 million], either as a straight move or as a loan with an obligation,

to let the 22-year-old leave Ibrox (Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, 27 January).

However, Sacha Boey’s confirmed big-money transfer from

Galatasaray to Bayern Munich appears to have not prompted them to increase their offer.

According to Naci Küçük, Rangers currently have control over the transfer of Galatasaray’s Rıdvan Yılmaz.

Galatasaray’s hand has been boosted by Sacha Boey’s revenue, but they have no plans to raise it.

“500 thousand € rental fee, 3 million € purchase option.”

Stand off.

If Galatasaray is only ready to go so far, Ridvan will most likely not go before the deadline.

The Gers appear unlikely to accept an offer below their reported asking price,

given that the club that made it just sold a player to Bayern for £25.6 million plus potential bonuses [The Athletic, 29 January].

If Rangers need to relocate their full-back to help fund their upcoming January business,

pressure may build as the deadline approaches, but if they are willing to keep him,

it appears likely that they will do so provided the overall sum of the latest bid does not increase.

And if it is only a loan with an option attached, it does not appear to be especially helpful to the club any way,

because Yilmaz is playing some of his finest games in Glasgow since joining from Besiktas,

which they would lose immediately, but he could still end up back at the club in the summer instead of the cash windfall.

Jefte is said to be on his way in, and Borna Barisic’s future is also uncertain,

so there will certainly be some movement at left-back in the coming days.

However, despite the presence of exit links throughout the window,

it appears that the existing starter will remain in place for the time being.
