Ayr United clarify position over supporters’ buses for Rangers cup tie-report
Ayr United explains their stance on the buses used by supporters for the Rangers Cup encounter.
Honest Men supporters had been pleading with the team to set up buses to get to Ibrox for the game on February 10.
The club will help with some of the costs associated with transportation arrangements, but supporters will have to make
their own arrangements, according to the club’s directors.
The match, which Viaplay has chosen for live TV broadcast, will begin at 530 p.m.
A representative stated: “The club is aware of continuous inquiries concerning fan buses, particularly for our February
10 Scottish Cup fifth-round encounter at Ibrox.
The organization of fan transport presents logistical, liability, and human resource challenges that make this an
unfeasible alternative for the football team.
“The board of directors would be happy to contribute to the overall cost of operating a bus for any supporters groups or
individuals who would like to travel to our upcoming Scottish Cup fixture.
“Additionally, the club would make Cameron’s Bar available in the afternoon prior to departure and provide a
complimentary drink for each supporter travelling.”
