Rangers target Jefte “has already said yes” to a move to Ibrox, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano,

who exclusively tells GIVEMESPORT that a deal with the Gers is “close.”

Phillipe Clement’s side has had a quiet 2024 winter transfer season,

but they could increase their activity in the last days of the market as they attempt to contend for the Scottish

Premiership title and advance to the Europa League’s knockout stages.

Rangers are still trailing in the race for the top division crown,

but recent results have propelled them back to the top of the table.

Jefte, currently on loan at APOEL Nicosia from Brazilian giants Fluminense,

is keen on a switch to Ibrox and seems poised to leave Cyprus in the near future days.

Rangers’ late window interest in Jefte follows a calm winter market.

Rangers fans haven’t got much to celebrate in the 2024 winter transfer window, which closes on February 1st.

The Gers began their business for the year by announcing the loan signing of

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Portugal U21 international’s arrival might replace Sam Lammers, who has temporarily moved to FC Utrecht.

Rangers have also signed FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mohamed Diomande

on a loan agreement with a buyout clause in the summer.

The Gers will spend €5 million (£4.3 million) on the Ivory Coast U23 international,

who has appeared in over 100 appearances for the Danish club, including  fixtures in European competition.

Rangers could acquire at least one more new player in the coming days after bringing in two this winter.

According to rumors, a deal to recruit left-back Jefte is close after

the Fluminense loanee was left out of APOEL’s squad on January 26th.

According to reports from the Mediterranean, a transfer for the 20-year-old left-back might cost as little as

£400,000. Rangers would be ecstatic, as the defender’s presence might potentially allow

them to release either Borna Barisic or Ridvan Yilmaz.

The former could soon leave Ibrox, as the 31-year-old is out of contract this summer.

Meanwhile, Yilmaz has finding opportunities tough since

his signing for Rangers in the summer of 2022 and may search for a fresh start elsewhere.

Therefore, Jefte’s signing could be crucial to begin a domino effect elsewhere in the market at Ibrox.

Fabrizio Romano: Rangers are awaiting the ‘green light’ to sign Jefte.

According to Romano, a deal to capture Jefte for Rangers is nearing completion after the player expressed interest in moving to Ibrox.

The Italian journalist thinks it is simply a matter of APOEL providing the go-ahead to ratify the transfer.

When asked for an update on the move, Romano told GIVEMESPORT:

“It’s close.” The critical point concerns APOEL Nicosia. They must approve the deal.

The player is on loan from Fluminense, and there is no break clause.

So it is up to the Cyprus-based club to approve the transfer.

This is what the Rangers are waiting for. The player has already said yes, so it is up to APOEL.

Rangers are excited with this opportunity, but they must wait for APOEL to approve it before proceeding.

Gers transfer news, including Lawrence Shankland’s latest

The Gers may have a busy few days in the market after signing two players on loan during the 2024 winter transfer window.

Silva and Diomande are expected to be joined by Jefte,

who could be one of several new arrivals before the deadline of February 1st.

Romano just told GIVEMESPORT (January 24th) that Rangers are ‘working on’ deals for

the last few days of the winter transfer window.

After improving their attack and midfield, Jefte’s arrival would strengthen Clement’s full-back positions.

Meanwhile, transfer source Dean Jones has informed GIVEMESPORT (January 26th)

that Rangers’ pursuit for Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland is’still alive.

‘ The Scottish Premiership leading scorer has reportedly increased

the Gers’ chances of acquiring his signature by rejecting the offer of a new contract at Tynecastle.

Rangers return to action after the Christmas break,

hosting Livingston at Ibrox in a Premiership clash on February 3rd.

The Light Blues won’t have to wait long for their next game against Aberdeen, who visit Ibrox on February 6th.
