The new player that Rangers have agreed to sign will go through a medical evaluation with Phillipe Clement’s team.
There are rumors from South America that the Rangers are almost done signing Ñscar Cortés.
According to Pipe Sierra, a journalist from Colombia, Lens and Phillipe Clement’s team have an
agreement about the winger’s arrival at Ibrox.
It’s said Cortés will be joining Rangers on a five-month loan deal, and the Scottish club will have an option to buy him at the end of the season.
The report claims there is a desire from Rangers to make the move permanent.
Now they’re waiting for the medical tests to get the signing confirmed.
Even though Brazilian side São Paulo were recently linked to Cortés, Sierra claims there was never
anything coming from them, as that was all ‘smoke’.
The winger was just acquired by Lens last summer for a fee of €4.5 million from Millonarios, a team in Colombia. In four matches
since his arrival, he has one goal and one assist.
Giving up on the 20-year-old seems premature for the French team. The cost
of a permanent contract is unclear for the Rangers.
