According to sources, deals have been struck for Colombian winger

Oscar Cortes from Lens and Brazilian left-back Jefte from Fluminese,

and Rangers are getting close to adding two more players in January.

The South American pair are anticipated to finish their transfers

to Ibrox before Thursday’s transfer deadline, and there are rumors that manager

Philippe Clement may add one more striker to his roster.

Cortes, a Colombian Under-20 international,

signed a £3.8 million contract with Lens in the summer from Millonarios in his own country.

Despite playing in just 40 minutes of Ligue 1 this season, Cortes

has recorded one goal and one assist. The 20-year-old is reportedly set to

move to Glasgow and Rangers and Lens have already worked out a

contract for the player to join on loan with the option to buy at the conclusion of the campaign.

This week, Rangers also hope to sign Jefte, a left-back from Fluminese football.

The 20-year-old is presently on loan at APOEL, but because they are one

of 11 Cypriot teams covered by a FIFA embargo,

they are unable to pursue a permanent transfer.

In an attempt to intervene, Rangers has initiated negotiations with

both teams on the possibility of bringing the player to Glasgow this week.

Cyprus-based publications suggest that Jefte’s transfer price might be as

low as £400,000. Prodromos Petrides, president of APOEL,

stated: “The cost to purchase Jefte is not prohibitive, but the current embargo

constraints prevent it from being done at this time. In order to hopefully

purchase him in the summer, we want to make sure he remains.

It is also possible that at least two players from Ibrox will leave in the next few days.

Jose Cifuentes, a 24-year-old who has struggled to make an impression

since joining from FC Los Angeles for £1.5 million in the summer,

is a midfield player, and Rangers have reportedly accepted an offer

from Rizespor to loan him for the rest of the season.

The Turkish club has the option to purchase the 24-year-old for £2 million.

Ridvan Yimaz, a left-back from Turkey, is reportedly being

pursued by Galatasaray for a loan agreement with a summer buyout option.

Yilmaz’s departure is contingent upon Rangers finalizing the acquisition of Jefte.
