However, after 11 games for the French club, he appears to be on his way to Ibrox.

According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra of Win Sports TV,

Rangers and Lens have reached an agreement to acquire the player.

Cortes will now undergo a medical examination.

The agreement will be an initial loan until the summer, with Rangers receiving an option to buy,

albeit the fee is unknown at this moment.

So far in his first window as manager,

Clement has signed Wolves striker Fabio Silva and FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mohamed Diomande.

Brazilian full back Jefte is also close to completing his move to Ibrox,

while Rangers await the signing of work permit paperwork that

will allow Diomande to begin working with Clement’s team.

Meanwhile, Rangers have given a South American team permission to meet with midfielder Jose Cifuentes, according to reports.

The 24-year-old Ecuadorian only joined Glasgow from Los Angeles FC in the summer under Michael Beale.

However, it is reported that new boss Philippe Clement will let the midfielder to leave the club after just six months.

Since signing his four-year contract, he has made only 20 appearances in a Light Blue shirt.

Last week, it was revealed that Turkish club Rizespor had agreed to a loan agreement with Rangers,

with the option to buy the player for £2 million in the summer.

However, it is thought that Cifuentes did not enjoy the transfer to Turkey.
