It appears that Rangers is getting close to making their third transfer of the January window, and

Philippe Clement’s team may make even more in the days to follow.

The deadline for clubs in Scotland to finalize any moves is Thursday, February 1, at 11:30 p.m. The Gers

have already signed Wolves forward Fabio Silva on loan and paid £4.3 million to FC Nordsjaelland in

Denmark for midfielder Mohamed Diomande. Now, it appears that the newest player to arrive at Ibrox

will be a new winger.

Football Insider reports that Rangers are in “advanced talks” to sign Oscar Cortes, a winger for RC Lens.

The 20-year-old, a complete Colombian international with one senior cap to his credit thus far, has only

made four appearances for the Ligue 1 team after moving from his native Millonarios FC.

According to the source, ‘there is a growing expectation among the Ibrox leadership that a deal for

Cortes can be finalized by Thursday’s transfer cut-off’. The Gers are reportedly working on an initial

loan deal for the right winger. Additionally, it’s said that Jefte, a left back for Fluminense who looks to

be close to moving, would join Cortes at Ibrox.

With those two signings, Rangers would have now signed four players for the window, and one more

player is expected to sign in the next few days.

Lawrence Shankland of Hearts and Scotland is still being linked to the Glasgow team. According to a

number of sources, officials of the Gers were present when the Jambos defeated Aberdeen 2-0 at

Tynecastle on Saturday.
