Player made ‘choice’ to leave Rangers and Phillipe Clement – Clubs negotiating transfer formula

The Turkish media has reported that Rıdvan Yılmaz, despite being routinely utilized by Philippe Clement, wants to quit Rangers.

According to journalist Ertan Süzgün, as reported by Sports Digitale,

the fullback’s ‘option’ is to join Galatasaray, although on loan.

The Rangers player is thought to be interested in making a four

-month move to try to make Turkey’s Euros squad this year.

According to the source, the clubs are still in talks about the transfer,

with both wanting the loan to include a buy option, with the Scottish side being particularly demanding in discussions.

The reports differ from those published by Fanatik earlier today,

when it was stated that Galatasaray had made a €3.5 million offer, while Rangers demanded €4.5 million.
If the Turkish side is unable to meet the Ibrox side’s demands,

this loan may be a reasonable solution for all sides, as long as the money for the purchase option is agreed upon.

Yılmaz’s transfer from Rangers has become a saga, and with the Turkish transfer market closing on February 9th,

it may take longer. When asked if a “quality striker” would be signed, The Fourth Official stated,

“They are obviously trying their hardest, I know that.
Before the window opened this month,

Rangers fans were unanimous in their conviction that the Light Blues needed to buy a new number nine if they wanted to win the Scottish Premiership at the conclusion of the season.
Cyriel Dessers has impressed in recent weeks and appears to be improving as a Rangers player,

but the Nigerian has already demonstrated this season that he lacks the firepower to make a difference in the most important games.

With Danilo and Kemar Roofe also dealing with injuries on a regular basis,

Clement simply needed to sign a new centre-forward, and while Silva is a good start,

he is far from finished and cannot be relied on week after week.

Hopefully, the Gers’ efforts in the last days of the window will pay off,

and they will be able to finalize a deal to bring a new striker to Ibrox before the window closes,

but this might be a deadline-busting transfer.
