As January draws to a close, Ryan Day’s team has experienced nearly constant success in the transfer portal and on the recruiting trail.

The most recent positive development for the Buckeyes was the in-state offensive lineman Carter Lowe, one of the top players in the

country at his position, committing to Ohio State in the 2025 class.

As February approaches, Day and his team will try to maintain the positive vibes. They have already been quite busy with talent

assessments for the 2025 and 2026 classes. In the last several days, Ohio State has extended many offers in each cycle, including one

to a former Florida State commit who is among the best wide receivers in the nation for the sophomore class.

One of the few teams to offer the 2026 talent since he de-committed from the Seminoles on January 22 is Devin Carter, a native of

Georgia. The Buckeyes are among the select number of schools that have extended offers to Carter,

which also includes Miami, Texas, and other universities.

As he approaches the 20 total colleges vying for the Cedar Grove High School product, Carter’s offer sheet is starting to mirror his

current rankings as the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 35 player overall in the 2026 class. The 6-foot pass-catcher hails from a

football family: his father, Dexter Carter, was running back at Florida State and won a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers in

1995. His brother, Dexter Carter Jr., was a wide receiver at Georgia Southern from 2016 to 20.

Carer was a track athlete who started on varsity for a Saints team that finished 11-3 and qualified for the state championship as a

freshman. He caught 30 passes for 417 yards and six scores, which qualified him for the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl.

Subsequently, he had an outstanding sophomore campaign, winning a state championship

with 51 receptions for 923 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Since Carter is a product of Florida State, it seemed certain that he would play at the collegiate level for the Seminoles. However, since

his recruitment is now available again, you can never count out Brian Hartline. Since Carter is only a sophomore in high school, there

is still a long way to go until he signs, but if Hartline is serious about this one,

Ohio State should always feel confident about its prospects.

Looking ahead to the 2025 class, the Buckeyes persisted in searching the nation for skill on both sides of the football field. Their

investigation led them to South Carolina, where Ohio State

made four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell an offer.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Campbell is ranked No. 5 on the defensive line and No. 72 overall. He has had over 30 offers,

from schools including Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Penn State, USC, and many more. Following a strong

sophomore season in which he recorded 61 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and five sacks, Campbell had an incredible junior season in

which he recorded a staggering 110 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
