A player who is described as “incredibly talented” by Rangers is about to leave the team during the

January transfer window after the Scottish giants accepted an offer a few days ago.

News about Rangers transfers

The Gers have been connected to a plethora of players in recent weeks as teams across the nation

attempt to maybe wrap up any unfinished business in what may be their final opportunity to do so this

season and Philippe Clement’s first as Ibrox manager.

Reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that a deal appears to be in place to recruit Fluminense

left-back Jefte, with that position appearing to be the major objective. It appears that an agreement has

been struck, meaning that the deal is almost complete as the club gets ready for Ridvan Yilmaz’s

potential departure.

Lawrence Shankland, a striker for Hearts, has been viewed as a long-term Rangers transfer target

despite having an outstanding season thus far with his present team. The 28-year-old has 14 goals and

four assists in the Scottish Premiership this season, more than any other player.

But Yilmaz isn’t the only player who could depart the Rangers this month; news of Jose Cifuentes’

departure has surfaced.

Jose Cifuentes bid is accepted by the Rangers

As midfielder Jose Cifuentes’ time at the club draws to an end, Rangers have accepted a proposal for

him from Rizespor, according to an update from Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph on X.

“Rizespor made an offer for midfielder Jose Cifuentes, which Rangers accepted. The Turkish side

offered a loan with a potential £2 million buyout.”

Although losing depth in the middle of the season is not ideal for the Rangers, it does make sense for all

parties involved considering his current squad status at Ibrox. A loan deal with a buyout option might be

wise business for all sides because the 24-year-old has only made six starts in the Scottish Premiership

this season, with the other three coming from the bench.

Although Cifuentes is clearly a good football player, the Rangers’ loss of him at such a young age isn’t

ideal, as his former Los Angeles coach Steve Cherundolo said of him.
