Gustaf Lagerbielke was once again left out of the Celtic team by Brendan Rodgers, and he needs to find a

new team ASAP.

Despite playing the first five games of the season, the Sweden international has had difficulty

persuading his management this year, and his rejection against Ross Country may have been his last

opportunity to make an impression.

According to a report published by Corriere dello Sport on Monday, Lecce is not giving up on signing

Lagerbielke in January.

According to the tabloid, the Italian team is “still hoping to land” the Swede before the end of the month

and is “not changing their target” in the last days of the transfer season.

But they’re still having trouble coming up with the cash to cover his salary, which is currently “too high”

for them.

They therefore depend on Celtic to lend them a hand a little, and the agreement could only be reached if

the Scottish team “decides to contribute” by paying a portion of his wage.

It’s unclear if those above Brendan Rodgers are willing to do that, but the closer deadline day

approaches, the more likely it is that a solution will be found since Lagerbielke will have to decide

between playing someplace and getting paid in full for his seat in the stands.
