As the January transfer season draws to a close, Scottish heavyweights Celtic and Rangers have little time to do business.

So far, the Hoops have signed only one player to their squad: Rapid Vienna’s ‘dynamic’ German winger Nicolas Kuhn.

Brendan Rodgers has characterized Kuhn as the ‘profile’ that his squad required,

although there is still talk of a move for one more player in the coming days.

The Daily Record knows that Rodgers is looking to add a centre forward to his squad,

and one name who has piqued supporters’ interest in recent weeks is in-form Aberdeen attacker Bojan Miovski.

This season, the North Macedonia international has 14 goals in 27 games across all competitions,

adding to his outstanding 18 goals in 41 appearances in his rookie season.

Former Celtic legend John Hartson has pushed the club to make a bid for Miovski,

believing that doing so will shift the title battle in Celtic’s favour.

He told the Sunday Post, “I’ve seen Bojan Miovski a few times, and I really enjoy his appearance.

I believe he would perform well at Celtic. He has a history of scoring goals for Aberdeen and understands what it takes to succeed at this level and for his native Macedonia.

Bojan gets a good first touch and holds the ball up effectively l and brings others into play.

He also powers towards goal when the time is right and causes defenders all sorts of problems.”

When contemplating a prospective move for Miovski, various sums have been mooted,

with the player estimated to cost between £3 million and £6 million.

Harson said: “In terms of a transfer fee, several figures have been proposed, ranging from £3 million to £6 million.

The simple line is that Aberdeen will have their value,

and any interested club will know how much they believe he is worth.

“Personally, I’d place him between £3.5 million and £4 million.

That would be good business. Kyogo Furuhashi is fantastic, and as long as he stays fit,

we’ll be good. But there is one minor niggle: we should still bring someone in for the forward area.”

Rangers adjust January transfer intentions as they react to an injury blow.

Rangers are looking to add a centre forward in the last days of the transfer window,

as Philippe Clement and his recruiting team respond to Abdallah Sima’s tragic injury.

Sima was wounded while training for Senegal at the African Cup of Nations.

The exact time frame for his injury has still to be decided, although Clement did clarify that he will be sidelined for a ‘long period’.

According to Football Insider sources, the Gers will focus their efforts on finding a successor for Sima before the end of the season on February 1.

According to the publication, Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland is the key figure on their radar following a phenomenal run of form which has seen him score 14 goals in his opening 23 Premiership games.
