Eddie Howe has responded firmly to rumors that Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey is on his team.\

In the last days of the transfer window,

it has been claimed that Newcastle United expressed interest in Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.

According to The Athletic,

Newcastle has made a move for the 22-year-old,

with interest also shown by Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich.

Any additions made by The Magpies prior to Thursday’s deadline would be the consequence of a player departing the team.

According to Eddie Howe,

Newcastle will not be able to sign any players during this transfer window unless a player departs first.

Ramsey is worth more than £50 million to Villa.

However,

before Tuesday night’s trip to Villa Park (8:15pm kickoff),

the Newcastle manager again dismissed his team’s interest in the Villa academy graduate.

When questioned about Newcastle’s interest in Ramsey, Howe said,

“That is incorrect,” before denying that an approach had been made.

With Aston Villa this season,

the England Under-21 international has made ten Premier League appearances and scored one goal.

Regarding the last days of the transfer window, Howe stated,

“We are waiting to see what happens.” “It’s a complicated scenario;

nothing seems clear-cut, and anything can go wrong.

“We won’t bring a player in without losing a player the other way,

I think that would be impossible.”

Howe further asserted that,

as far as he was aware, just one Newcastle player,

Kieran Trippier, had received an official bid this month.

Newcastle turned down Bayern Munich’s offer of almost £13 million for the England international.

This month, moves involving Miguel Almiron,

Callum Wilson, and Jamaal Lascelles have also been connected.

Although Almiron is expected to make a comeback from illness against Aston Villa on Tuesday night,

Lascelles and Wilson are still sidelined with injuries.
