£2.9m bid made as another last-gasp Rangers exit now on cards – report
Rangers see new growth in Ridvan Yilmaz, as Galatasaray makes an updated £2.9 million bid.
According to Fanatik, Galatasaray has placed a new proposal of £2.98 million in an effort to acquire
Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz prior to the January transfer deadline on February 1.
On January 29, the Turkish news source announced via their X account that Yilmaz will join
Galatasaray if the new offer is accepted.
Jose Cifuentes also seems to be leaving Ibrox, as Turkish team Rizespor is reportedly interested in
signing him, despite the fact that he is reportedly not thrilled about moving to Turkey. [John Clark,

Getting near and closer
They may still have a ways to go, but this bid brings them closer to the stated asking price of £3.8
million, up from their earlier £2.5 million offer [Yagiz Sabunchuoglu, January 27].
Rangers appear to be holding out for their original asking price, but it would be reasonable to infer that
the most recent bid fits into the same category as those that came before it as a loan-to-buy offer from
Galatasaray, with the money to be paid at the end of the season.
Yilmaz’s recent Ibrox performances won’t have helped the Turkish team’s hopes of getting the price
lowered, and Yilmaz’s management under Philippe Clement has started to noticeably improve his
performances.
Since Borna Barisic’s injury thrust him into the starting lineup, the defender has put in a run of strong
performances at Ibrox, which may encourage Rangers to keep him after all, particularly if their demands
are not satisfied.
Rangers has rejected several loan-to-buy approaches from Galatasaray, so it’s only a matter of time
before one or both parties modify their positions in order to close the transaction before the deadline of
February 1st.
In other Rangers news, it’s anticipated that this week will see new transfer negotiations.
