Several conditions emerge after week+ Rangers talks for another Jan signing – report

Oscar Cortes’ permanent terms are revealed ahead of the January transfer window in Rangers transfer

news. Ibrox relocate

Ahead of Oscar Cortes’ impending move to Ibrox, talks between Rangers and Lens have been going on

for more than a week, according to Pipe Sierra.

The journalist with W Radio Colombia revealed on Twitter on January 28 that this month’s loan

transfer will have a permanent possibility, subject to a number of requirements being satisfied.

This month, the 20-year-old is expected to join Rangers after Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande, with

Jefte reportedly on the way.

The 20-year-old, who joined Lens in the summer after leaving Millonarios, has made four appearances

in the main squad and has assisted on one Ligue 1 goal. In six reserve games, he has scored three goals

and provided an assist.

According to reports, Cortes has left for Ibrox in order to finalize the agreement before the deadline.

Proceeding forward

Rangers’ negotiations to sign Cortes have reportedly lasted more than a week, which corresponds with

the period of time Abdallah Sima was not included in Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations team for their 3-1

victory against Cameroon on January 19.

In addition to the signings the Belgian needs to make this month, the Brighton loanee’s absence is a

serious setback for Philippe Clement’s team.

Though it is obvious that the replacement will be inexperienced given his age and the fact that he has

only played in a few games since leaving Colombia, it looks the club moved swiftly to arrange his

appointment.

Alfredo Morelos, the final South American attacker at Ibrox, ultimately had a significant effect on the

team.

Given that he only joined Lens a few months ago, it sounds like a permanent deal would require him to

play a reasonably significant role for the remainder of the campaign. Still, if he meets the necessary

requirements to make a long-term stay at Rangers a possibility, it might be worth the financial outlay.

In other Rangers news, John Bennett has proven to be correct when he says that Clement will cost

“huge” sums of money.
