Glasgow Rangers are closing in on two more January signings,

with sources indicating that deals have been made with Brazilian left-back Jefte from Fluminese and Colombian winger Oscar Cortes from French club Lens.

The South American duo are set to complete their moves to Ibrox before Thursday’s transfer deadline,

with manager Philippe Clement still looking to add a striker to his team.

Cortes, a Colombian Under-20 international, joined Lens in the summer from Millonarios in his home country for a

cost of £3.8 million and has one goal and one assist in 40 minutes of Ligue 1 action this season.

Rangers have already agreed to sign the 20-year-old on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season,

according to sources on Sunday night, and the youngster is on his way to Glasgow.

Rangers also hope to sign Fluminese left-back Jefte this week. The 20-year-old is now on loan at APOEL,

but the club is unable to pursue a permanent deal due to FIFA’s embargo on 11 Cypriot teams.

Rangers are trying to swoop in and have begun conversations with both clubs about bringing the midfielder to Glasgow this week.

According to sources from Cyprus, Jefte’s transfer price might be as low as £400,000.

APOEL president Prodromos Petrides stated:

“The cost of purchasing Jefte is not prohibitively expensive,

but it cannot be done at this time due to the embargo constraints we now have.

We want to make sure he stays until the summer,

and then we hope to buy him. The club would love to sign him permanently.”

At least two Ibrox departures are also possible in the coming days,

with Rangers reportedly accepting an offer from Rizespor to loan midfielder Jose Cifuentes for the rest of the season,

with the Turkish club holding a £2 million option to buy the 24-year-old,

who has struggled to make an impact since joining from FC Los Angeles for £1.5 million in the summer.

Galatasaray is also reportedly interested in a loan move for Ridvan Yilmaz with the option to buy in the summer,

but the Turkish left-back will not be permitted to go until Rangers complete the acquisition of Jefte.
