Liel Abada Celtic transfer update and Billionaire-owned club’s bid for Rangers man
Coming up is the January transfer window, and Scottish clubs will have until February 1st to complete
their business.
Both Celtic and Rangers have strengthened their rosters this month, but it’s unclear if they’ll feel
pressured to make another trade before the transfer deadline.
Here are a couple of the headlines from Glasgow’s largest clubs as there aren’t many days left.
Brighton prepared an offer.
Archie Stevens, a young player for Rangers, is reportedly the target of Premier League team Brighton &
Hove Albion, who are getting ready to make a bid. The winger, who made his senior debut for the team
in the League Cup last season, is reportedly the target of a “significant six-figure” bid from the Europa
League team.
Stevens is highly thought of at Ibrox but his performances at youth level have not gone unnoticed it
seems with Brighton keen to add him to their youth structure ranks, which has seen so many players
progress into the first-team in recent seasons. The report claims the Seagulls could push to complete the
move before the February 1 deadline.
Stevens is an England youth international and joined the club from Wimbledon in the summer of 2022.
Abada’s posture drove home
In the wake of several connections to English teams, Brendan Rodgers has taken steps to clearly state
his position on Liel Abada. Due to his struggles with injuries this season, the Israel international has
only made six league appearances for Celtic.
However, in light of the connections to Watford, Southampton, and West Brom, Rodgers has reaffirmed
the team’s position that Abada will not be moving this month.
He declared, “There’s nothing on Liel.” “I am aware that tales about him have been created for various
motives, most likely in an attempt to speculate about Liel’s recent behavior. It’s really, really easy.
“Liel is a player I am excited to work with and that I can improve,” the player said after returning to the
field after a lengthy injury layoff. He is a player I spoke with early on; he approaches me, we chat, and he
is very much focused on growing here at Celtic.”You can’t deny that given the hardships he faces in his
native country, that makes sense. However, we don’t want to sell him.
“He’s a really important component of what we want to do here, and as I’ve always said, football will
look different when the appropriate players are available.
“You just see with him alone coming back in the difference he then makes to our team. So, I won’t be in
a hurry to want to lose that.”
