Ibrox Sources: Rangers star surely set for exit door after Fabrizio Romano transfer update
Since replacing Michael Beale, Philippe Clement has significantly improved Rangers. The Belgian has
done an outstanding job.
With the Gers having already won the League Cup under their new manager and making progress in the
Scottish Cup and Europa League, things are truly light and day.
Most significantly, they have gotten closer to league leaders Celtic and bitter competitors in the Scottish
Premiership standings.
However, it’s evident that Clement isn’t quite happy with his present squad because on Friday, January
26, Fabrizio Romano reported on X that the Gers and Fluminense have struck an agreement for the
signing of left-back Jefte.
Since the defender is currently on loan at APOEL, an agreement has been reached for him to join Ibrox
until June 2027. Rangers are awaiting APOEL’s approval.
With left-back Ridvan Yilmaz being almost certain to depart the club this month, action in the opposite
direction will undoubtedly occur with his upcoming arrival at Ibrox.
There has been a lot of discussion about the defender’s possible departure. On Friday, the Turkish
tabloid Fotomac revealed on its website that Okan Buruk, the manager of Galatasaray, had a direct
conversation with the Ibrox star over a possible loan swap to the Super Lig team.
In Borna Barisic’s absence recently, Yilmaz has excelled; on Wednesday, January 24, he even scored the
game’s first goal in a 3-0 victory over Hibernian.
In spite of this, it looks like the 22-year-old is leaving, however it’s unclear if he would go on loan or permanently.
A BBC Sport reporter was astounded by a “stunning” moment from the Rangers Man of the Match
versus Hibs, in other Rangers news.
