Australian Open Final: Rohan Bopanna becomes oldest-ever man to win Grand Slam
The second-seeded team, along with Matthew Ebden, won the Australian Open 2024 men’s doubles title with a 7-6 (7/0),
7-5 victory over the unseeded Italian pair Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori at Rod Laver Arena.
This was their first triumph as a team, and Bopanna’s first in men’s doubles after 60 Grand Slams,
a record for the most efforts before winning.
Bopanna, who turns 44 in March, becomes only the third Indian to win a men’s doubles Grand Slam.
Bopanna and Ebden won the high-voltage tennis final, which lasted one hour and 39 minutes.
