After taking advantage of the winter break to get some much-needed relaxation,
the holders of the Scottish Premiership defeated Buckie Thistle handily last Sunday.

However,

Rodgers has acknowledged that Greg Taylor pulled his calf against the Highland League team and may now miss some time,

creating a need to fill the vacancy on the left side of defense [Football Scotland].

In the last stages of the window,

Rodgers is said to have placed a high priority on adding a left-back, though it is still unclear who the Hoops would target to address what has turned into a problematic position.

Given the complexity of the mid-season market,

it is unlikely that Celtic will take action before tomorrow’s game against Derek Adams’ Staggies team.

Given this,

three individuals who potentially fill in for Taylor in 67 Hail Hail’s first home league are being evaluated.

Liam Scales appears to be Celtic’s best option.

Liam Scales, a Republic of Ireland international,

is the logical pick to start against Ross County because he has experience playing left back for Celtic.

The former Shamrock Rovers player may be an internal option to provide depth at the position should reinforcements not arrive this month,

as Rodgers has intriguingly previously intimated.
