The Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints seem to be in different leagues. This is why it’s so shocking that this statistic highlights the similarities between the Saints and Bills.

You could be forgiven for believing that the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints were of quite different calibers after the latter team lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs and the former team,

somewhat surprisingly, missed the postseason.

But this statistic reveals that the two teams have been strikingly comparable in recent years.

A statistic from ESPN’s Get Up revealed that two teams are tied for the most wins during a five-year period yet were not able to make it to the Super Bowl.

They are the Saints from 2017 to 2021 and the Bills from 2019 to 2023.

Despite winning 58 games throughout that span, neither team advanced to the Super Bowl.

Anguish.

There is a three-season overlap,

even though those Saints years were mostly spent with the Sean Payton and Drew Brees teams.

It’s not ideal, but it’s really incredible that both teams have this questionable distinction within a relatively short span of time.

It should be mentioned that the Saints and their quarterback situation with Derek Carr provide a bit of a fork in the road, while the Bills are in a tight spot with Josh Allen.

But there are significant doubts about both teams’ head coaches,

Dennis Allen and Sean McDermott.

The point is, many NFL fans would be surprised to learn that the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints have a very similar past as of late.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to watch where both series go from here and who is fortunate enough to end this streak of objectively humorous materialization first.
