Turkish Football reports that despite January proposals from Galatasaray,

Ridvan Yilmaz wishes to remain at Rangers.

Despite Galatasaray’s interest, the 22-year-old defender is happy at Ibrox and is “delighted” to have cemented his place in the starting lineup,

according to sources cited by the publication on January 25.

Contrary to what has been reported,

it is believed that the player has not agreed to personal terms;

instead, negotiations are only now taking place between Rangers and Galatasaray.

During the transfer window months,

it can be difficult to know what to believe.

But after weeks of back and forth about Yilmaz staying in Scotland or leaving,

it appears that he will stay at Ibrox.

After receiving a mysterious message via X,

the player confirmed this conclusion when scoring a goal in the Gers’ 3-0 victory over Hibernian on Wednesday, January 24.

In place of the aforementioned defender and Borna Barisic on the left flank,

Philippe Clement has been vocal about the possibility of adding a new full-back.

But with Rangers moving slowly during the January transfer window,

the team won’t have much time to finalize any new agreements.

With Yilmaz’s rapid development into what appears to be a completely new player since his arrival,

the Belgian may now be satisfied with his play.

Yilmaz’s goal was a testament to that,
