Rangers are getting closer to signing Brazilian Jefte from Fluminense.
Philippe Clement’s side have agreed a deal for the 20-year-old, but a deal is now hinging on whether APOEL Nicosia give the green
light as he is currently on loan at the Cyprian outfit.
It is understood Jefte has agreed terms at Ibrox until the summer of 2027.
Clement has been on the hunt for a new left-back with current first choice Borna Barisic
out of contract come the end of the season.
Since Barisic has been sidelined due to injury, Turkish teenager Ridvan Yilmaz has made appearances; however, throughout this
transfer window, he has been continuously linked to a move away from Glasgow.
Yilmaz could leave the club in the last week of the January transfer window if a deal is reached for Jefte.
Mohamed Diomande, meanwhile, expressed his joy at joining Rangers on a season-long loan from FC Nordsjaelland, with the Ibrox
team required to purchase him in the summer for an unknown cost.
The 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder will arrive in Glasgow once his work permit application has been confirmed and the deal, which
runs to 2028, is subject to international clearance.
Diomande becomes the second signing of the January transfer window for Philippe Clement’s side following the arrival of Fabio Silva
on loan from Wolves earlier this month.
“I am very excited to join such a historic club and I’ve heard a lot of good things about the team,”
Diomande stated on the club’s official website.
“I really can’t wait to get started, join up with my teammates, and run out at Ibrox for the very first time in front of the Rangers
supporters. I had a lot of great conversations with the manager who told me about his plans for the team and where I would fit in,
which helped convince me that Rangers was the right place for me.”
