The position of defensive coordinator has been vacant for months after Alan Williams abruptly stepped down in September, leaving

head coach Matt Eberflus in charge of the call sheet. This proved to be fortunate because the defense saw a turnaround in the middle

of the season and finished among the best in the NFL. Even though the play caller, a coordinator is still needed to help organize things

and provide an additional set of eyes and ears.

Thus far, the Bears have met with a number of interesting personalities, including Eric Washington of the Bills, Terrell Williams of the

Titans, and Chris Harris, a former safety. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, a fourth name has entered the mix. Joe Barry, a

former defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, will conduct a job interview.

Considering the man was just let go by the Bears’ rivals, it’s an intriguing choice.
