Elite SPL forward adamant on completing Rangers move in January as Gers share transfer hopes

Lawrence Shankland, a striker for Hearts, has expressed his desire to sign with Rangers before the January transfer window closes, TEAMtalk can disclose.

Shankland’s exceptional goal-scoring ability has put him on the Gers’ radar for the past few months. However, Abdallah Sima’s injury has now accelerated the club’s search for a striker.

This season, Sima has scored ten goals in the Scottish Premiership; however, while traveling with Senegal to the African Cup of Nations, he suffered a thigh injury.
He will be sidelined for the next three to four months due to the injury, and if he recovers in time for the season to end, he might not play again until the very end.

Rangers have now reached Shankland, and TEAMtalk has learned that the striker is optimistic the deal can close before the window closes.

Without a doubt, the forward is capable of scoring goals; with 13 goals this season, he leads the SPL and is the only player to have more than James Tavernier and Sima of the Rangers.

The Gers are reportedly “plotting a sensational late bid” for Shankland, according to a Friday report from Football Insider.

Although TEAMtalk has not yet received the same information, we can disclose that the club shares the striker’s aspirations for a deal to be finalized by the end of February.

There is still time in the transfer window for Shankland if Rangers can persuade Hearts to let him go. If Shankland were to join, he would become the third player to arrive at Ibrox in the winter after Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande arrived on loan.
