Kris Boyd has taken a scathing swipe at Neil Lennon for his steadfast belief that Celtic would win the championship.

After his club, the Houston Rockets, failed to win the league a few years ago, the former star of the Rangers is

adamant that Lenny would have firsthand knowledge of what it takes for a team to lack the mentality needed to win

the league.

As Philippe Clement has stated in the open, they have been inspired by Lennon’s contemptuous behavior toward his

group.

Furthermore, Boyd believes his former team has what it takes to challenge the champions.

Thus, Neil Lennon writes in his Scottish Sun column, “Rangers don’t have the mentality to win the title.” He should

know, I guess, because his Celtic side bottled eleven straight years ago.

“That season, they ought to have been beyond Steven Gerrard’s squad’s reach. But they botched it when the chips

were down.

Currently, meanwhile, the Rangers are still very much in the running for the championship.

A few months ago, if you had glanced at the league table, some people may have believed it was finished. But the

league is still ongoing.

“In terms of who joins and departs both teams, the next few days could be crucial.

However, I find it intriguing that Matt O’Riley had a “Not For Sale” sign placed on him by Celtic.

“That says a lot. Celtic would undoubtedly accept the £20 million on offer if they were as certain of winning the

championship as Lenny was.
