Leander Dendoncker, a midfielder for Aston Villa, has been loaned to Napoli to finish the season.

When Dendoncker’s loan expires at the end of the current campaign, the Serie A team has the option to purchase him for approximately £8

million. This season, he has only appeared in one Premier League game as a starter (during Boubacar Kamara’s suspension), and seven

more times as a substitute toward the end of league games.

Last season, endoncker made 14 appearances under Emery, starting five of them, and helping the team finish in seventh position, which

allowed them to return to Europe. In a move of £13 million, the 28-year-old left Wolverhampton Wanderers to join Villa in the summer of

2022. However, after less than 17 months at Villa Park, it looks like he has played his final game for the team.

His departure means Tim Iroegbunam – who has made only one appearance this season – is now the deputy to Kamara in the holding role.

Iroegbunam was on loan at Queens Park Rangers last season and missed the first few months of this campaign through injury.

Villa, meanwhile, is hoping to capture Middlesbrough’s Morgan Rogers after their previous two bids for the 21-year-old were rejected.

Another young English forward Villa has been keeping an eye on this season is Jonathan Rowe.

Following the loan move of third-choice stopper Filip Marschall to MK Dons, Villa is also considering a goalkeeper.
