At the San Francisco ceremony on Wednesday night, Kerr gave a speech. At Chase Center, the Warriors defeated the Atlanta Hawks

134–112 in the end. Milojević passed away in Salt Lake City on January 17, following a heart attack. 46 was his age.

With players wearing jerseys with Milojević’s name on the back, the Warriors dimmed the lights at their home stadium. Some donned

black shirts with the Serbian word “Brate,” which means “brother.” The Warriors also showcased a video tribute featuring soundbites

from players, coaches, and Kerr discussing Milojević.

Both Warriors players and staff were in tears. During the poignant homage, Milojević’s spouse and kids

were seated in the spectators as well.

“The world lost a beautiful soul last week,” Kerr stated. In addition to being a fantastic basketball coach, Deki was a great man, a

wonderful friend, and, most importantly, a handsome grandson, son, husband, and father.

“You just saw the images; that was him every day, and that is the impression he has left on our organization over the last three years. It

was always there—the laugh, the delight, the smile. We are very much who we are because of what he meant to us.

He is a component of our spirit.

In addition, Kerr expressed gratitude to everyone for the “outpouring of support” that she has

received since learning of Milojević’s passing.

“Rather than a moment of silence, I’d like for all of us to give Deki an ovation he can hear up in heaven,” Kerr stated.

A medical incident occurred to Milojević on January 16, during a team meal in Salt Lake City, which was one day prior to the Warriors’

game against Nevada Jazz. His passing caused the postponement of that game as well as another against the Dallas Mavericks.

On Wednesday in San Francisco, the Warriors made their court comeback and won thanks to game-high 25 points from each of

Stephen Curry and Jonathan Kuminga. 48.5% of the Warriors’ 3-pointers were made, accounting for 56% of their total shots made.

Curry and fellow guard Klay Thompson made five 3-pointers apiece. Out of 33 tries, the Warriors made 16 from downtown.
