New fan map shows the Detroit Lions really are America’s team

Prior to our victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Sunday’s playoff game,

social media analytics indicated that supporters throughout over fifty percent of the nation were cheering us on. More NFL fans are now supporting Detroit

according to an updated map from Bet Online.

The New York Post displaced the Dallas Cowboys as “the REAL America’s Team” on the front of its sports page after the Lions’ victory on Sunday.

 

That is essentially demonstrated by this new map.

 

All the states that supported a different club that was eliminated in the divisional round are now supporting the Lions. 37 states are now supporting Detroit in our victory.

 

In their desperation for the Lions to win,

some fans went so far as to create their own humorous social media maps that included the entire United States, not just California or even just San Francisco.

Based on geotagged data from the social networking site X,

the map tracks official fan hashtags in each state, such as “#OnePride” and “#GoNiners,” from Sunday night until Thursday. We monitored over 220,000 posts on social media.

It seems that Americans enjoy a good comeback tale,

and whether or not you’re a football fan,

you have to admit that the Lions have been struggling for many years.
