According to sources, manager Philippe Clement has “high expectations” for the FC Nordsjaelland midfielder,

who cost the club £4.5 million.

Clement and Ibrox recruitment manager Nils Koppen are thought to have conducted significant study and

background checks on the Ivory Coast under-21 before making their move.

Diomande is expected to become the club’s first permanent signing this month,

following the loan signing of Fabio Silva from Wolves earlier in the window.

Diomande has received glowing reviews in the Danish top flight and has five assists in 21 games this season.

He has made 111 total appearances for FC Nordsjaelland in all competitions,

scoring 13 goals and providing 14 assists.

Clement is anxious to bring in additional recruits before the window closed but may have to shift players off their books sooner.

Rangers may sell left-back Ridvan Yilmaz this month if they receive an offer of £3-4 million,

according to Football Insider (20 January).

There is substantial interest from Italian clubs and Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Rangers remain second in the Scottish Premiership after a 3-0 victory over Hibernian on Wednesday evening (January 24).

Their next league match is against St Mirren on Saturday afternoon (January 27).
