Agreement reached: Clement has “high expectations” as Rangers finalize the signing of Mohamed Diomande

With the exception of the final paperwork, Rangers have signed midfielder Mohamed Diomande,

and Football Insider has been informed by insiders that an announcement is on the way.

The 22-year-old will likely be the Gers’ second acquisition of the month, according to transfer correspondent

Pete O’Rourke, who made this revelation in a recent episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast.

Football Insider was informed by reliable sources that manager Philippe Clement has

“high expectations” for the £4.5 million FC Nordsjaelland midfield player.

Before acting, it’s thought that Clement and Ibrox recruitment manager Nils Koppen

did a great deal of background work and investigation on the Ivory Coast under-21.

Following the loan signing of Wolves’ Fabio Silva earlier in the transfer window,

Diomande is now anticipated to become the team’s first permanent addition this month.

In the Danish top division, Diomande has received great praise and has contributed five assists in 21 games this year.

Across all competitions, he has made 111 appearances for FC Nordsjaelland, racking up 13 goals and 14 assists.

Although he could need to move players off their books before the window closes, Clement is keen to add more players.

Rangers would sell left-back Ridvan Yilmaz this month if they receive an offer between £3 and $4 million,

as reported by Football Insider on January 20.

Italian teams and Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray are also keenly interested in the player.

Rangers defeated Hibernian 3-0 on Wednesday night (January 24),

keeping them in second place in the Scottish premier league.

Their next league matchup is this Saturday afternoon (January 27) versus St Mirren.

According to sources, the Rangers are in talks to sell the 22-year-old sensation,

and the new price has been disclosed.
