Dak Prescott named as finalist for MVP Award
Dallas – Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback,
was named one of five contenders for the NFL MVP Award on Thursday.
Prescott was picked along with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen,
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson,
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, and 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.
The Cowboys quarterback led the league in touchdown passes
with 36 and passed for 4,516 yards while leading the team to a 12-5 record.
Prescott was also nominated for Offensive Player of the Year, alongside Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Jackson, McCaffrey, and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill are also nominated.
Micah Parsons, a Cowboys pass rusher, and DaRon Bland, a cornerback,
have been nominated for defensive player of the year. Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt,
Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and Las Vegas’ Maxx Crosby are the other nominees.
The winners will be announced as a part of the NFL Honors primetime awards show on Thursday, Feb. 8.
