£3.4m Rangers signing “proud” amid Ibrox transfer claims

Rangers have been linked with a left-back on an almost daily basis with Ridvan Yilmaz seemingly certain to leave the club.

The 22-year-old Turkey international has never quite fit in at Ibrox,

but after surprising manager Philippe Clement at the end of 2023,

he has grown to be an important part of the team.

However, Ridvan Yilmaz presented the appearance of a player who has no intention of moving following Rangers’ emphatic victory over Hibernian.

Yes, he isn’t the tallest, but does he really need to be given his speed and attacking intent?  At last,

Looking at Ridvan’s post-match post on X, it’s evident that he’s not in a rush to go.

Ridvan Yilmaz, if one is not an expert in body language, appears to be happier at Rangers than he has ever been.

He has been one of our finest players in addition to being a consistent performer.

Had it not been for a masterclass from John Lundstram,

Ridvan would have won another man of the match trophy against Hibs.

He doesn’t appear to be a player attempting to push a move away, according to an interview he did with Rangers TV following the game:

“To be honest, I’m really happy after the game.”  Scott Wright assured me before the game that I would score today.

“I told him that I would come to you if I made a score,

but he was too far away!”Ridvan’s style of play has a certain tempo and intensity that is ideal for Clement’s goals.

Rangers realize that a healthy, fit, and productive Ridvan Yilmaz is a tremendous asset,

which is why he is asking £5 million from any prospective bidders.

He now adds his name to the ever-expanding roster of players that Philippe Clement has not only been able to pull a tune out of,

but also to mould and refine.  Ridvan’s sale is just not rational.
