It’s true that Rangers may use some help at left-back before the transfer window closes because they cannot afford to have any deficits in that position in the second half of the campaign.

Who knows what will happen with Yilmaz?

He appears to be eager to depart in order to guarantee his spot in Turkey’s squad for Euro 2024,

which would leave Barisic as the team’s only senior alternative.

However, Thomas doesn’t exactly shout an exciting choice.

The 22-year-old struggled for form throughout his first half of the season while on loan at Premier League side Sheffield United,

making 12 appearances in the top division before his loan was terminated.
