Owen Beck to be ‘fantastic’ new Rangers signing as Ibrox approach made for Liverpool defender
On January 4, Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones said the Light Blues had an approach knocked back the Reds for Beck, who was
recalled back from a loan spell at Dundee at the beginning of the month.
Philippe Clement is reportedly keeping tabs on the left-back position with Ridvan YIlmaz facing an uncertain future, with Galatasaray
said to be making him their “number one” target (Kutlu Akpinar, 22 January).
While a move for Beck still appears difficult to complete, former Rangers man Ferguson – speaking
to Ibrox News – thinks he would be a great fit at the club.
“The lad came up, and although Dundee hasn’t exactly struggled, they have been under pressure in one or two of their games.
Nevertheless, he has been their bright spot, and it is obvious that he is a very excellent player.
“I think he would really thrive in a Rangers lineup with better players surrounding him,
so if the Rangers could get him, that would be an incredible move for them.
“Yilmaz has taken a while to settle in and appears to occasionally struggle with injuries, but this young man from Liverpool, who is out
of contract at the end of the season, is someone we think would be a great addition to that Rangers side. We know with Ridman
Yilmaz, the situation there is uncertainty.” Barisic is a good player, but his mentality has always been
called into question in the big games.
