Graeme Souness has pushed Rangers and Celtic to reach an agreement that will allow away fans to attend the game.

The two teams are apparently back in talks after barring visiting fans from the first two games of the season.

Rangers are willing to allow 750 Celtic fans into Ibrox,

but Parkhead officials have safety concerns and would prefer to return to the original allocations.

Souness still considers it the world’s largest fixture and thinks a solution can be struck.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he stated:

“There’s no doubt that having an away support increases the atmosphere at stadiums.

I also understand how difficult it is to coordinate things on the day.

“I understand why we don’t have away supporters, but if we could devise a scenario to make it work,

it would undoubtedly enhance the fixture’s spectacle.

“It is up to all parties concerned to come together and try to make it work.

I’ve heard some people claim that not having away fans is a turnoff, but I wouldn’t agree.

“It remains the world’s biggest derby. “It’s a bucket-list match.”

Meanwhile,

Rangers will allegedly pay an initial £4.5 million to sign Mohamed Diomande.

We disclosed that the 22-year-old will become Philippe Clement’s second signing of the January transfer window.

He has signed agreements on a lengthy Ibrox deal and is ready to make the transfer to Glasgow;

however, travel arrangements have  been delayed by Storm Isha.

Airline difficulties stopped Diomande’s plans to fly to Scotland on Monday; nevertheless,

the move is believed to be unaffected, with only a medical to complete before it is confirmed.

According to rumors in Denmark, Rangers will pay FC Nordsjaelland £4.5 million to secure the highly rated midfielder.

According to reports, in the biggest transfer of the winter in the Danish Super League,

add-ons have also been included in the deal if bonus criteria are met.

According to BT, the initial charge will be 40 kroner (equivalent to £4.5 million or €5.3 million),

although it may climb subsequently.

Diomande, who plays mostly on the left side of midfield,

joins the Senegal Africa Cup of Nations team after Abdallah Sima was forced to withdraw due to an injury.

The country’s football association cautioned the Brighton player,

who is on loan at Ibrox, that he may face a lengthy absence.

He has left the national team camp to return to Ibrox for more scans and rehab on the injury issue with his left thigh.
