According to Ali Naci Kucuk, Galatasaray has made an offer to sign Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz on loan, with a £428,000 upfront cost and a £2.5 million buyout option.

Before starting their most recent round of talks with Rangers, Galatasaray had already reached an agreement with Yilmaz, according to a story published by a Turkish journalist on January 22.

Rangers reportedly demand at least £5.1 million in exchange for Yilmaz’s departure in January, although the Turkish powerhouses hope to lower that demand in the upcoming days of talks.

It appears that a relocation is inevitable.

Galatasaray seems committed to closing a deal for Yilmaz before the transfer window ends, indicating that they won’t give up until they can finalize the transfer in January.

But, it might not go through if they are unable to financially support Rangers’ demands. If their price isn’t fulfilled, the Glasgow team has no incentive to sell and would be content to have Yilmaz at Ibrox for the balance of the campaign.

If Yilmaz were to depart Ibrox in the near future, Rangers would have to find a long-term successor for Borna Barisic, whose contract is slated to expire at the end of the current campaign and no new agreement appears to be on the table.

Galatasaray will therefore have to up their offer to seal the deal, but given the ongoing nature of the negotiations and the Turkish club’s insistence on a deal, it appears quite likely that a deal will be reached before the conclusion of the transfer season.
