Rangers transfer news: Philippe Clement confirms Alex Lowry exit plan after Hearts loan cancelled

Rangers plan to send Alex Lowry out on loan again after his temporary move to Hearts was ended early, Philippe Clement has confirmed.

The Light Blues manager stated during his press conference on January 23 that the winger’s “clear plan” is to play on loan this season,

and the team is now determining the best place for him to do so.

Rangers agree £4.5m deal to sign Mohamed Diomande, medical booked

Before his contract was terminated,

the 20-year-old played in 17 games for Steven Naismith in the first half of the season,

with one goal and four assists in all competitions.

Using their official Twitter account,

the team announced the manager’s update: “PC: We want Alex to play this season on loan,

so that’s the clear plan.”

“We want him to go on loan so he can play more games and build strength.

” We’ll assess where he can grow and thrive the most.

Lowry would not be anything like a regular under Clement if Hearts had sent him back from Tynecastle early since “he’s probably not going to get the game time that would allow him to develop further,

” as stated by Naismith [Hearts official website, January 19].

With Abdallah Sima now added to the never-ending list of injured Gers,

and with so little choices available in attacking areas right now,

it would have been ideal if Lowry could have filled in.

After a Jam Tarts loan that had both advantages and disadvantages,

the manager obviously believes he will be better served elsewhere for the remainder of the season,

thus it appears that his next move will be crucial.

Examining the side under Giovanni van looked fascinating

His initial outings were quite promising and gave hope that he may soon be a regular for the Rangers,

but that hasn’t happened.

Since then, Ross McCausland has emerged as the only true academy product seeing a lot of first-team play;

therefore, Clement will need to hope the Northern Irishman’s growth doesn’t encounter any similar setbacks.
