Rangers could ‘reignite’ interest in £2.5m winger as Celtic ‘ready to accept’ transfer offers

Rangers, the team vying for the Premiership title,
are predicted to rekindle their interest in long-term target Million Manhoef.
Glasgow World first reported in December that the Gers were the front-runners to acquire Manhoef in January.
However, TeamTalk sources then stated that the Championship leaders Leicester City and fellow Dutch team Feyenoord might present a serious threat to the Ibrox club.
The 22-year-old winger Manhoef is capable of playing fullback as well.
Since making his debut for Vitesse in 2020,
he has played in over 70 games and is considered one of the team’s most valuable offensive assets.
The young player has apparently attracted the attention of Rangers manager Philippe Clement,
who is a big fan of the star because of his speed and inventiveness.
While rumors that Vitesse may cash in on Manhoef have only grown stronger due to their off-field financial issues.
With just 12 points and 12 goals from their first 18 games, Vitesse is at the bottom of the table.
Manhoef has been the team’s shining light,
and his four goals are largely credited with keeping them from sinking much worse in the standings.
Due to Vitesse’s lack of depth in that section of their squad,
Rangers were reportedly considering signing the player despite Vitesse’s risk of relegation to the second division.
But according to recent claims from the Scottish Sun,
Vitesse has recruited Brighton prospect Adrian Mazilu, who plays in the same position as Manhoef,
on a season-long loan.
This deal could open the door for Manhoef to leave the GelreDome stadium this month to generate some much needed funds for the Dutch club.
The outlet adds that Manhoef is valued at around £2.5m,
which makes him an affordable addition to Rangers squad if they were to make a move.
