Rangers could foot another bill to seal a world class  player transfer in January – Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plleyum as our exclusive columnist.

Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers..

Dan Plumley has insisted that Rangers could have footed the whole travel bill to bring Mohamed Diomande to Glasgow from America to seal his January move to Ibrox.

The financial expert acknowledged that this will have been discussed during the negotiations with the midfield player from FC Nordsjaelland,

In January's update, Mohamed Diomande starts the procedure to complete his Rangers move.

who has departed a training camp in Europe to finalize the transfer.

Rangers are expected to pay £4.5 million plus possible bonuses to recruit Diomande,

according to BT’s report on January 23.

It’s possible that this initial cost will increase as well.

As usual,

it’s a part of the discussions,

he exclusively told Ibrox News.

You get the impression that if a team is serious in signing a player,

they will play the travel card in order to win you over and have a proper conversation.

The short answer,

I suppose,

is that it can happen either way.

It does depend on how much the club funds for such activities and how much is set aside for them;

these days, I’m sure every club does.

“If you’re willing to put your hand in your pocket and fund the travel,

then the player knows that this club is really interested,

” the club representative said.

“It’s not unusual that the club could be footing some of that bill or all of that bill,

particularly if it’s a transfer the club really want to make.”

In other Rangers news,

Plumley has stated that the team might claim

they lost out after a transaction worth more than £900 million was approved.

When Danish team Nordsjaelland defeated Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce 6-1 in the Europa Conference League earlier in the season,

Ryan Kent became enamored with the game.
