Exit-connected Following Philippe Clement’s incident, Leon King is undoubtedly destined to remain with the Rangers.

Rangers were extremely busy in the summer transfer window as Michael Beale looked to transform the club in various areas.

It turned out very badly for the manager, with Beale losing his job at Ibrox not long into the new season, with the boss now at Sunderland.

Beale has been replaced by Philippe Clement, with the Belgian manager now undergoing his first transfer window in Scotland.

It remains to be seen just how much activity there will be at Ibrox this month, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

One player that could fall into the latter category is Leon King, with the Daily Record reporting (7 December) that

Clement could sanction a loan move for the defender this month.

So far, the 20-year-old has remained at Ibrox, and looks set to remain the case after discussions between the player and the manager.

“The new manager coming in has been a real boost for me and my confidence and I have managed to get back on the pitch,

” said King, as per Sky Sports (22 January).

“I have had a talk with the manager and it went really well. I am really happy at the club and I love staying here and I am just happy playing

wherever the manager wants me to.”

The youthful center defender has played in very few games this season—just nine minutes across all competitions—

but maybe Clement is hesitant to let go of any players at this point in the campaign.

King may still be a major contributor for the Gers in a variety of contests, even though weariness and injuries

might start to show signs as the months pass.

However, Clement has mostly relied on players like John Souttar, Leon Balogun, and Connor Goldson at center back thus far.

In other Rangers news, ongoing conversations have taken place after a player told the team he wanted to leave Ibrox.
