Finance Expert: Rangers could pay another entire new bill to seal the transfer of top target regarded ”Best” in Superliga
Dan Plumley has stated that Rangers could have covered
the entire travel cost to bring Mohamed Diomande to Glasgow from America to complete his January move to Ibrox.
The finance specialist said it would have been part of the discussions with the FC Nordsjaelland midfielder,
who has abandoned a training camp across the pond to complete the transfer.
Rangers are expected to spend £4.5 million plus potential bonuses to recruit Diomande,
according to BT on January 23. The original fee may also climb.
“It’s part of the talks, as always,” he told Ibrox News exclusively.
“You get the idea that if a club really wants a player,
then part of the negotiation is to play that travel side of things to get you over and sit down properly.
“It can happen both ways, I guess is the simple answer.
It depends on how much money the club has set aside for such things, as I’m sure every club does these days.
“It’s not unusual that the club could be footing some of that bill or all of that bill,
particularly if it’s a transfer the club really want to make because
that shows willing on behalf of the club if you’re willing to put your hand in your pocket and fund the travel,
then the player knows that this club is really interested.”
