Chris Jack has claimed he would be surprised if Rangers announce the deal to sign a world classic player today but reassured fans it would most likely come in the next couple of days.

There will still be a brief wait, the Rangers Review journalist explained,

as the player has not yet finished a medical or recorded any of his customary club media before to the announcement.

Rangers win transfer race as journalist makes new £4.5m bid claim

but Jack reassured the supporters that this is the only reason for the delay and that they shouldn’t worry if the agreement isn’t finalized in the coming days.

Jack said on The Rangers Review [January 23]:

“I would be shocked if that happened tonight.

In addition to the apparent latter phases of everything teams need to do to close these deals,

they still have the medical to go through.

“In addition to doing his club media interviews,

he will undoubtedly need to take the scarf photo.

It is not a situation where people should begin to worry if it is not completed today.

“Everything is set up, the agreement is complete,

and once the medical issues are resolved, we can proceed.

It will pass throughout the upcoming few days.

Regardless of any worries about how long it took,

everything suggests that this deal will close unless something incredibly unexpected occurs before he signs.

There have been weather-related delays,

but Jack said he will go to Glasgow as soon as possible to get his medical clearance before doing interviews for the club’s media and taking the customary photo with the scarf to go with the announcement.

Everything is set up for the deal; the price and the specifics of the contract have been decided upon;

all that’s left is for a medical examination to validate the agreement,

and if all goes according to plan,

it will be finished by the end of the week.

With Diomande slated to leave this week and additional targets remaining on the list of potential arrivals with just over a week left in the market,

the end of the transfer window is expected to be a hectic time at Ibrox.
