Another Rangers January signing completed last night
Despite the Ibrox delay, Rangers apparently finalize the signing of Mohamed Diomande. TEAMtalk claims that Rangers have now “completed” the agreement to buy Mohamed Diomande from FC Nordsjaelland.
The publication stated on Twitter on Monday night, January 22, that the second Light Blues signing of the January transfer window is
now complete, even though Storm Isha’s travel delays are still delaying his arrival at Ibrox.
Rangers Review’s Chris Jack had earlier that day reported on the weather issue, but he added that it did not put the Ivorian’s contract
in peril and that a medical examination was still required when he got to Glasgow.
But according to TEAMtalk’s post, “RANGERS SIGNING.” Apart from what we already reported to you on Sunday, Rangers have now
finalized an agreement to acquire Mohamed Diomande, a top player for FC Nordsjaelland.
“The attacking midfielder’s trip has been delayed by Storm Isha; he was supposed to be at Ibrox.”
Rangers closed this deal
It’s not obvious how Rangers closed this deal without Diomande showing up at Ibrox, assuming a physical has gone well somewhere else. The 22-year-old was in the US for Nordsjaelland’s training camp, so it’s possible Rangers have a doctor wherever he is now who
can complete the procedure, regardless of whether he is still across the Atlantic or was sent to a different location in Europe as he
attempted to head to Scotland.
Diomande is, or will be, Philippe Clement’s second January addition this month, depending on whether the most recent update is
indeed premature.
Although Fabio Silva arrived early on loan from Wolves, negotiations to sign a left-back and a striker have not yet been resolved.
At the last AGM [Rangers Review, 5 December], John Bennett had hinted that Clement will have support in the transfer market.
However, the window is nearing its end without much business completed, whether it is because to a lack of funding or the inability to
find the proper targets.
Given that Michael Beale spent a significant amount of money in the last window, it appears that the highly anticipated effort to bring
in Lawrence Shankland from Hearts indicates that the problem may be with the former this month.
